Filmed through the lens of multiple surveillance cameras installed in a cabin, the idea behind this short is create a narrative-less film; letting the models do whatever they want instead of following staged movements. Beauty is there, it's just not emphasized through an 'absent-minded' plot. In short, this film leaves beauty to chance, and the result is a happy-go-lucky grainy aesthetic following friends having fun.

Dusk and FantaCy — Xi Zhou paints a portrait of an apocalyptic world
“On the last day of 2021, also known as new year’s eve, I walked with my camera in this town called “Truth or Consequences”. A wild place as its name. There were no people on the streets, no cars, no noise, like if all humans had disappeared without chaos. “Dusk and Fantasy” presents this world apocalyptic scene, which can be peaceful and colorful, with no sadness.”

“I took this photo series in an abandoned place in New Orleans. This is a space where reality and fantasy intersect, The human traces such as peeling paint and faded facades, serve as a reminder of the ever-changing nature of our world and the fleeting passage of time. these details provide an evocative window into the past, present, and future, provide a glimpse into the human condition, as well as the way nature is reclaiming man-made structures. It’s an adventure to explore mystery and imagination, the combination of strangeness and familiarity comes together and gives me a wonderful illusion, even though this is the end of the world looks like for me. ”

I broke the original perfection and recreated a new character.”
